This made-for-tv movie was titled “My Date With The Presidents Daughter.”
All she wants is to be a normal teenager!
Mandy Moore runs away from her Secret Service and instead of an international incident it’s a meet-cute.
Cute kid. Aliens attack.
The awful trend of the First Daughter as First Hostage begins.
Nicholson, Portman, Close. Forget the Aliens, this should be the movie.
Sorkin experiments with the idea of Presidential offspring.
The Secret Service guys daughter is a major plot point, but the President does have a daughter but she has no lines.
With THREE Presidential daughters, the TV series had youngest daughter Zoey fall in love, get kidnapped, and then virtually disappear until she reappeared in the 60s to work at Sterling Cooper.
The fact that most of the recent (the past 20-something years) movies where the President does have children, they are daughters struck me the other day. As you can see from the gallery above, the trend in the late 80s begins with a weird sexual awakening for the daughters as they try to escape from the Secret Service to meet up with cute boys. Later, the movies make the daughters younger and put them in jeopardy of some sort (terrorists, gossip papers, etc.). What does this all mean? I don’t know. I just watch movies.
